And next...

img_8212.jpgI love the creative process.  I never have a plan when I start, I just pick an item... be it a fabric, an embroidery design... a ribbon... and take it from there.  I dug into my fabric closet and discovered I had another piece of the houndstooth fabric, enough to make the sewing machine with embroidery module cover.  All over houndstooth could be a bit... overwhelming?  Hard on the eyes?  It rather makes my eyes cross when I look at it, but I love it nonetheless!

I'm not really sure what I'm doing with this yet.  This cover is a difficult one for me to sew with the funky angles and curves, so I don't want to complicate it further than I have to.  I've cut out batting and spray basted it to each piece already.

img_8213.jpgRight now I'm auditioning a stitch out, again on the ivory linen, that I'm thinking of making two per side, in a four inch wide panel that's hemmed and stitched down to the front and back before I assemble the cover.  This is one of Elaine's over at Embroidery Traditions gorgeous Fiore designs. She does beautiful work and her motifs are digitized in the Bernina Embroidery software, and are pure .art files... important to me because I like to get creative with them!

I've swapped my sewing machines around again.  With the addition of the Singer 201-2, I've set my Bernina 630 back up as my embroidery machine, my 730 will be my  glamour girl, and the Singer will be my piecing machine.  Bliss!

img_8215.jpgHere's kind where I'm going with this.  Maybe just one of these panels?

Look at you being creative and having fun!!! I can't wait to get back in the sewing room. But, I am forcing myself to take down the Christmas decorations today. A job that I don't much care for. Much more fun to put them up! :~)

I had a Dr.'s appointment this morning. So while I was out, I did some browsing in the quilt stores. Now I must get the undecorating done! argh!!!!

I'm always changing "which machine does what". I think it's healthy to give "sewing time" and "embroidery time" to my 630 as well as my 200/730. But - I do admit I have never embroidered on my 430, it's kept just "for sewing" and I have to say I really like my 430 as well as the other two. And my 1300DC works wonderful too.--------Have to love the Glamour girls........LOL

Back to putting groceries away............Man oh man, I do NOT like that chore.

Julia - I hate taking down Christmas decor as well. As every year passes, I tell myself that I'm going to decorate less. BUT - I do NOT listen to myself.............LOL

Julia, I hope everything is okay?

I take my Christmas decor down the day after! I can't wait to see it go, and clean again.

Groceries! OMG Cindy I forgot about dinner!

Cj,
You are just so creative! I really missed your blog while you were gone. You inspire me (though I don't do embroidery). Thanks!
Karen

I forgot to add I still haven't undecorated. I will be doing it within a day or two as I'm headed to my DD#1 as she's having an ultrasound on Monday and I would like to be there to see if "it's" a he or she. My going depends on the weather 5 1/2hr. trip one way. I think DH might not like having the Christmas stuff to live with while I'm gone and it will be done for when I get home.
Julia, Hope you're ok.

Karen that's a long trip, I hope you don't plan on going there and back the same day! But let us know if it's a "he" or a "she"!
