We owe, we owe
Monday, January 26, 2009 at 7:16AM
It's off to work we go!
Bleh! I just finished up our taxes and we owe a chunk. We've already paid a chunk! But I am a chunk... so maybe it's poetic justice eh? :(
We are on the edge of the radar for the ice storm that is supposed to hit Arkansas and Missouri starting this afternoon. I'm really hoping we don't lose power. We'll be fine if we do, but we'll likely have to hang out in the RV as I don't think we'd be able to keep the house warm enough with just the propane fireplace. We have plenty of propane though!
I finally completely finished my sewing room organization yesterday. I'd forgotten that I had 4 more rolling carts in my quilting room with fabric in them. After sorting through those and my scrap basket, the tall thin plastic drawers I got for scraps turned out to not be quite enough space, so I moved everything (threads, patterns, zippers, etc) out of the rolling carts under my cutting table into the tall skinny drawers, and I'm using the ones beneath the cutting table for scraps. Worked out beautifully. It may not be designer paradise in here, but it's certainly well organized!
We had Rueben sandwiches for lunch, man were they tasty! I haven't made those in some time. Tonight for dinner, I'm going to make pork cutlets in a sherry & mushroom cream sauce. I haven't a clue what I'm making with them... that's as far as I've gotten. Last night I just fried up a skillet of diced potatoes, onions, ancho peppers, corn and grilled polish sausage. I've been a bit queasy the last few days and it sounded good to me.
Probably no quilting today. I may just go curl up with a book.
P.S. I forgot I wanted to share, this is a cute idea for a quilt with scrappy charm squares!

Your feeling queasy so you made polish sausage? Wow, you have a stronger tummy than I do. When I feel queasy I want something like yogurt or oatmeal. :~) After doing taxes that is enough to make anyone feel queasy. Well, except for the guy they want for treasury secretary, he just don't pay his and he has no worries!
I was thinking about something with pork for dinner tonight too! Not sure though, I made decide to do something else.
I have so many projects that I want to do, so no reading for me! I am in high gear for quilting these days. I want to keep going while I am in the zone!
I hope that you get to feeling better soon! :~)
GLad I'm not the only one to wonder about sausage and being queasy. Tho I have been known to eat a few odd things when queasy. The only problem is then DH thinks I'm cured and expects me back to normal.
We might be getting some snow here Tues night into Wed. poss. 8-10. I can only hope! It looks so nice outside with the snow. Even with the 30's we had 2 days last week we still have snow. It just needs a freshening up. Much better than ice, sleet and freezing rain.
Hope you feel better soon Cj.
PS I love Reubens!
Actually when I'm queasy I usually want Coke and something spicy. The thought of bland food on an upset tummy is enough to send me over the edge. I know, I'm weird but that's the way it works :)
Oooh, 8-10 inches of snow would be SO COOL! Enjoy it!
That is a cute way of using charms.
Taxes - you say taxes? YIKES - I am just about to fax in our Schedule "D" ...from 2007 because we were notified of an discreptancy. I had to do a little research but have the paperwork ready to send in. Luckily, no funds owed.................. But - that's not to say what doing 2008 taxes will bring.........or take....
How'd you get all your tax documents so quickly? Vince just got a W-2 today. There's a scholarship Chad wanted to apply for that's due 1/31 but we wanted to use this year's tax return and there's no way we can have it done by 1/31. Vince will get ours turned in to the accountant as soon as he gets all the documents but I doubt we have it ready to file before the end of February.
We have about 1/2" ice on the hard surfaces now and it's still accumulating. Should turn to snow during the night. What a mess for travelers! I hope there are no travelers tonight! It does look like NW AR is getting way more than we're getting though.
We get everything electronically except for Jim's W2's. He had 3 this year, and the last one came in yesterday. I do our taxes with Turbo Tax. They're pretty basic because we don't have any write offs. :(
This weather is going to be ugly. I hope we don't get slammed like we did last winter. Yuck!
