When it rains...
Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 8:43AM it pours!
My dishwasher quit this morning. It’s been going for a while though, wasn’t really a surprise. My parents discovered our flatbed trailer for hauling our tractor stolen over the weekend, off of our acreage in Missouri… damn thieves cut the tree down it was chained to!
If it wasn’t bad enough that I’d broken the spool holder off my Bernina 630 at the guild retreat and have had to order a replacement, the thread cutter quilt working again on my 830 so it’s in the shop for repairs… no idea what that bill is going to run.
So a rather expensive week for the Tinkle household! Ugh! Guess I’ll be researching a new dishwasher this morning, Jim said he doesn’t have time to install it, so I’ll probably order one from Lowes and have them deal with it, I know they’ll haul off the old one as well. It’ll probably be either a KitchenAid or a Bosch, I’ll see what they carry.
On the bright side, I made good progress on the log cabin quilt yesterday, and will post more pictures tomorrow. My chicken turned out wonderfully, and the apple-pecan stuffing was very good, a definite keeper!
The only modification I made to the recipe was to use my homade whole wheat bread cubes instead of whatever the recipe called for. I cube up all my stale bread and the heels, and toss them in the dehydrator, then freeze them. Next time, I might add a bit more apples to the recipe. I think I am going to use this recipe for Thanksgiving, but I will add the neck meat and giblets to it as well.
