You're all gearing up...
Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 3:07PM to quilt, and I’m gearing down. I sew nonstop all summer, because here in Arkansas, it’s simply too hot to do anything else. We’ve been here for six years now, and I’ve yet to adjust to the heat. Now that fall is here, I’d much rather be outside, or even inside with the windows open, but I haven’t been doing any quilting!
On that note, I will accept quilt tops up until December 1st, and then not again until after the new year.
I”ll start cooking more, so I’ll probably get fatter! I have been using our Water Rower every morning, I row a mile and a half, and hope to work up to more, right now that’s all my back muscles can handle, rowing is quite the all body experience!
I’ve also been walking most mornings, just about a mile, because my feet simply can’t take more than that. Sometimes I go to the park and walk along the lake, and sometimes I hit the Bona Dea Trails. They’re closer to my house (neither are far) so I’ll probably go there more often.
I bought a Kettle Bell weight set yesterday, and plan to do some strengtheing excercises with it. You’ve probably figured out by now I’ve decided the gym and I are not a good fit. I’d rather spend the $50 plus a trainer per month on other things, I’m not keen about being around all those people, and I have germ issues. LOL I’d be walking around with a spray bottle of bleach and probably get tossed out!
I just returned from dropping off my eleventh pair of shoes to return at the UPS store, none of them have fit so far. I think I still have seven pairs coming? So many of you have sent me links and made shoe suggestions, which I very much appreciate. Unfortunately, 99% of shoes are not wide enough to accomodate my bunions, so far only the Birkenstocks are truly comfortable. I found some Birk’s in regular shoes instead of just sandals, and have sent for those to try. Of course, they’re not sneakers either, those are proving to be my biggest challenge. I’m not ready to do bunion surgery yet, as long as I can find enough shoes to fit, but I’m getting close to the point where it’s going to have to happen soon, or else I’ll just live in Birkenstocks for the rest of my life!
My face is totally suburned! I never thought twice about it, riding around with the top down with the weather being so cool, silly me! Yesterday a friend and I rode up to Conway and did a little shopping, the top down on the Magster, and today I’m paying for it with a nasty headache! It was worth it though!
