Apron

I’ve been buying apron patterns for awhile now, but had yet to make one, until this morning!

Didn’t this turn out cute?  I bought three colorways of fabric last year to make three of these, stuck them in a project box, and promptly forgot about them.

I’m trying to decide if I want to add a pocket or not.  The pattern calls for one, but I never use pockets in my aprons, I wear them simply to save my clothes and to wipe my hands on when I’m covered in flour.

This pattern is by Indygo Junction, “Cook’s Cover-Up IJ733.  I think I will add the pocket, just for a touch of cuteness.

I posted my Tuscan potato soup recipe this morning, as requested.

I went back and added the pocket!

Oops...

I posted my recipe for chocolate date nut bread.  I haven’t got the Tuscan potato soup recipe typed up yet, but I haven’t forgotten!

This morning I got Jim’s bathrobe cut out.  Did I mention that I have somehow managed to lose my original pattern, and had to order another one?  I love Kwik Sew’s 3266, View B.  It’s a wonderful pattern, 90% done on the serger, and I have the same pattern in women’s for myself.

Alas, after I finished cutting it out, I realized I’d forgotten to lengthen the pattern, it’s already altered on the old one.  He’ll wear it because I made it for him, but I’m going to have to get more fabric and make him another… and tell him he can use this one when’s he traveling I guess… bummer!

I took out some pork cutlets for dinner tonight, and will be making my recipe with port and cherries. I’m out of propane for the grill, which has really put a crimp in my cooking!  My fault, I forgot to close the valve last time I used it.

Jim will sadly be leaving for New Orleans alone on Sunday, as I will not be able to go with him wth my foot in the brace.  We’d have to take the dogs, and I would have to walk them… I can already visualize the broken arm as I try and get down the RV steps with two dogs in hand… I’ll pass!  Not to mention walking them!
