Damage control
Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 5:29PM Reading back through some of the comments on my posts about my disappointment in the beautiful painted featherweight I purchased, I realize that perhaps I left the wrong impression about the seller. I was disappointed in the machine… not the seller.
The machine arrived with a few flaws which I discussed. The restoration was gorgeous, and very detailed. The flaws could have easily been overlooked with a test sew out, and while it was quite a let down to have my machine arrive in less than perfect working order, I am confident in my choice of whom I chose to do the restoration.
Enough so that the machine was returned via UPS today, and I requested that rather than a refund, my purchase price be applied as a down payment on a 222k, whenever it can be found and restored. Not for a moment during this transaction was I treated with anything less than professionalism. I like to do some research prior to about anything I purchase, and I trust my ability to choose the best person, product or method 9 times out of 10.
I am still very excited about owning a restored Featherweight! And I know that the next one that arrives on my doorstep will be both beautiful and purr like a kitten! Thank you Leo, for sticking with me through this. I am probably the pickiest customer anyone could ever have.
