Design wall Monday

Guess what I finished in the wee hours this morning? YES! The wacky log cabin top is finally done, I got off my duff and finished piecing those tiny border blocks.
At least… I think it’s done. I’m still tossing around the idea of adding some applique to it, but of course you know that I probably won’t!
I was going to tie dye the backing fabric for this, with the bright blue and green (on white), but now I think a black marble will look better. I’m hesitant to go that route though, because then the batting color is a tough one. It would have to be white so as not to show through the white blocks, however I don’t
want to use a white batting with a black background either!
I’m also torn on quilting it with either a neon green solid, or a variegated darker green thread. I’m leaning toward the darker variegated.
I believe I’m going to quilt this with “Spiral Path”, by Willow Leaf Studio.
I should go finish the lonestar now right? I don’t think I’m going to. There’s another quilt I am in the mood to make right now, very easy and soothing in pastel colors.
In my stash I’ve had a collection of fat quarters for years… I think it’s one of the 3 Sisters by Moda lines. I’m finally in the mood to use them!
Head over to Judy’s to see what everyone else is up to this Monday!
