Halfway there!

I haven’t had a chance to play with the borders on my lone star anymore in EQ, but I did get the star exactly halfway done, woohoo!
I think I will be able to get a better idea of the borders once the center is complete. A computer generated graphic is great and really I can decided about 90% of what I want that way… I’m never quite positive until I see it actually in front of me.![]()
I’m excited to see that it’s all lining up nicely so far, knock on wood! The hardest part is pressing it, because there’s so much bulk. I think if I could do a better job pressing, my points would be dead on… and they’re close, but not quite precise. When I’m finished, I might steam it, I dry press when piecing, but that’s not really doing the trick through (in some areas) four layers of fabric, and two layers of foundation. This is a really neat method though, basically fool proof, and I will definitely want to make another one.
We had a stunning display of mother nature last night, in some of the wickedest lightening I’ve ever seen. It was absolutely gorgeous to watch. Unfortunately, tornadoes did touch down in surrounding areas and lives were lost. This area is very prone to tornadoes, they rip through here every year.
