The joys of having...
Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 4:41AM An engineer for a hubby who is also a master machinist!
You may remember that last month during my quilt retreat, when I went to take my Bernina 630 out of it’s suitcase, the spool holder on the top caught on the suitcase and broke off, and one side of the handle came free in the process.
Yesterday was finally fix it day! I’d ordered a replacement spool holder, but needed to take the cover off the machine to see exactly what had broken on the handle. As it turned out, nothing! There is a metal pin that must have slid out and rolled to the floor at the retreat. I was emailing a picture to my dealer so I could order the replacement part, when Jim came in and said he could make one for me in thirty minutes!
It was just that little metal pin he’s pointing to in this photo. Thirty minutes later, I had a new one, and my baby is perfect once again!
Looks like next week we’ll be hauling the RV down to New Orleans. I’m still trying to decide if I want to join Jim down there for the winter or not. I’m thinking the city traffic might be more than I can handle, driving wise, as I am a terrible drive and avoid cities at all cost… which means I’d be spending my days in the RV.
My recipe for Kentucky Bourbon Pie is now in the recipe section. Enjoy!
