“The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life. You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose.” - Arnold Bennett

Are Berninas M&M's... in disguise?

And you simply can’t stop at one?  LOL!  That’s what someone posted this morning in one of the Bernina groups I belong to, and it just tickled me to death because at last, I have an excuse Jim will understand!

I nearly added another one myself last week, there was a Virtuosa 150 on EBay that I almost won the bidding on, but sense prevailed before I spent more than it was worth… amazing.

The dogs have been sick again, there’s been little sleep for either of us this past week, Jim and I have been taking turns trying to sleep on the sofa, so we can let the dogs out all night long.  They are better this morning, but I rather feel like death warmed over myself!

So today, I’m going to treat myself to a day at the computer, playing with my Bernina Cutwork software. I picked up some construction paper and have been cutting out all my AccuQuilt appliqué shapes, and scanning them into the software.  I have a little test wall-hanging I’m making out of some Moda Chocolat scraps I found in my stash… I have been working on getting all my fabric in one location, so it’s easier to find and coordinate fabrics.  I came across a huge pile of charm squares from the Chocolat line… mostly my “rejects”… the plaids and stripes.  Time to start using them up!

Before I forget, those of you that mailed checks directly to me for the raffle quilt, I have your ticket stubs in envelopes ready to be mailed out, I just haven’t made it to the post office yet.  It is on my to do list for tomorrow!  Thank you so much!

I appreciate all the suggestions for using up my old sheets.  I think I’m going to save them for making muslins for shirts… I need lots of practice and I like that idea.

Ack!

As this site of mine is rather new and not very well known, I was checking the search queries this morning to see what search terms folks have been using that bring them here.  Guess what was the number one query this week?

“Simply Sophisticated BOM UGLY”!!!  Apparently I wasn’t alone in my opinion!  Because I already disliked the fabrics and layout of the quilt (for those of you that don’t know, this was a mystery quilt, blocks and fabrics were a surprise) I decided I didn’t want to spend any additional money replacing the setting triangle fabrics, so I went ahead and used those that were supplied.

The panto is “Floriana” and is available at Willow Leaf Studios.  I used King Tut variegated thread on top and the Bottom Line in the bobbin.

It’s finished now, and I will be taking it along to my next guild meeting so it can be donated for charity.

I seem to be on an ugly quilt roll.  I have been trying to use up my vast supply of Moda Chocolat charm squares, but all I have left are the ugly ones for the most part.  There were a few of the pretty floral ones left, and I thought I could squeeze one last little table runner or wall hanging out of them, so I’ve been busy chopping up the charm squares into two inch blocks.  I am learning patience!

One more UFO done!
