Very cool color wheel!

I don’t typically have too much trouble choosing colors for my quilts (of course you might think my color choices are awful, taste is subjective!) but I ran across this wonderful online color wheel.

It’s fantastic!  I could spend an hour just playing with it!

I had planned to get most of the quilting done yesterday on the purple and green nine patch… instead I spent almost the entire day frogging out a row of bad tension, aaaggghhh!

But it’s done and I’m back to quilting on it, I have an entire pass done!  LOL

Pink and brown variegated King Tut thread on this one.  I do not have a destination in mind for this quilt yet.  A possible one… but I haven’t decided yet.

In the local classifieds, a church is selling some oak church pews.  How I would love to buy one for the future studio!  But they’re sixteen feet long, and I’m afraid one would probably be a poor choice of wall space usage.  I could use it as a fabric shelf, would that look cool or what!

Go see what everyone else is up to this “work in progress Wednesday”!

Not a bad day's progress!

The baby quilt is all cut out except for the solid borders, and halfway pieced, so I’m pleased!

It’s been sometime since I’ve done anything on point… I confess to being baffled at the start!  I totally forgot I had to begin assembly from the corner.  Probably brain freeze from shoveling too much chocolate ice cream in my face!  It made for a heck of a good lunch though!

Santa Claus (a.k.a. the UPS man) arrived just a bit ago with some new threads I ordered… can you say BRIGHT?  It’s like there’s someone else controlling my mind and body lately… I don’t LIKE bright things, surely I didn’t choose these?

Definitely outside my box.  Could be it’s getting too small due to all the cream and chocolate in my life.  And I’m loving every bit of it!  My next quit might be something in hot pink with black and white polka dots!

Or maybe not… I just got Kim Diehl’s new quilt book and I am head over heels in love with one of the quilts in it.  She is my favorite designer, I love, love love her work!

If we don’t start building my studio soon, we’re at least going to have to build a wall.  Just a wall.  I need some place for thread and fabric!

Hmmm...

I have to say, Jim’s choice of thread colors was spot on for his quilt, the cone I chose would have not looked nearly as nice.

I don’t know how well you can see the quilting yet, the lights over my longarm make it hard to see any detail, as they’re very bright.  I’m liking the thread very well, but I’m not so sure about the panto he chose.  But, he likes it, and since it’s his quilt, I guess that’s all that matters!

I have King Tut thread on top, Isacord in the bobbin, and I’m using Quilters Dream Blend for this one.  This is the second Batki quilt I’ve done, and I’m finding the batiks a joy to work with.  I’ve heard that they are problematic to piece, and even worse yet to quilt, and here I am thinking they are much nicer to both piece and quilt on!

I am so happy with the new saddle stool.  I had a bobbin jam up and had to unpick a section of stitching, and boy was it nice to do it sitting down!
