Jazzilicious!
Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 12:56PM Have you seen Sarah Vedeler’s new embroidered quilt design, “Jazzilicous”? What a stunner!
This is definitely on my to do list for 2012, although probably not in pink! I may do it in black and cream. I can’t wait until this pattern hits the stores!
I did manage to get all my log cabin blocks pieced yesterday, and one of the eight inch snowflake blocks done… it resized with no problems at all. But I had to stop for the day, as I’ve run out of washed wool felt and have to wait for another piece to dry, and I had to order more fabric. I have exactly enough of the beige to do the remaining three snowflake blocks, but not enough to do the center medallion.
I ordered a bolt of the By Anne “Soft and Stable” that everyone has been telling me about, and plan to use it on the next sewing machine cover so I can compare it to the fusible fleece I like so well.
My monthly quilt group is starting a project in December that I’m going to join in on. I never participate in these projects, because I’m always too busy working on something else, but this particular project grabbed my interest. Everyone is to bring a medallion of any size, divisible by 6 inches to the December meeting. It can be anything you like, a purchased panel, an appliqué block, a pieced block… whatever. Then, once a month for the next eleven months, someone is going to draw two borders out of a hat. Everyone will be adding one, or both of those borders to your center medallion. You’ll have no idea what the borders will be from month to month. Sound fun?
I’m going to do mine in hot pink, turquoise, yellow and lime green. A little outside my box for sure! And my center medallion is going to be… well you’ll just have to wait until I get caught up a bit. LOL
