Hickory Hills Quilt Shop
Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 8:17AM Yesterday Jim and I decided to take the day off and go play. I’ve been wanting to visit Hickory Hills Quilt shop, just outside of Hot Springs, and we thought it might be fun to take the “Ride the Ducks” Tour and visit a train shop while we were there. The only thing we accomplished on our itinerary was the quilt shop… I’ll tell you about the rest in another post.
I apologize for my pictures, most of them are leaning over, as we took scenic hwy 7 down and I was somewhat carsick when we got there!
Two lovely ladies greeted us at the door, and gave us a tour.
The shop is probably equally split between Bernina machines and accessories, fabric, and a classroom.

They sell AccuQuilt GO products as well:

A fair amount of samples were in the store, something I always like to see. These dish towels entranced me, what an awesome idea! Embroider a recipe on the towel! Definitely on my list to do.
This was a “quilt as you go” project, which I will never do, but I absolutely flipped over it because the idea behind the quilt was to showcase your machines (Bernina machines, in this case) decorative stitches. The blocks were quilted as you went along, with the stitches.
The crosshatching on the right via a decorative stitch is absolutely gorgeous. Notice the couched cord around the block?
I don’t do hand embroidery either, but these are terrific!
And last, I loved these two wallhangings and bought the pattern for them:
I hope you enjoyed my tour!
