Baby Shamu is home!

Okay I don’t really call my Bernina 830 “Baby Shamu”, but I heard someone else refer to theirs once as that, and it fits… the darn thing is the size of a small whale!
My parents, bless their hearts, picked the machine up from my dealer for me last week, and brought it along with them today since they decided to come down for a visit. I dread the drive everytime I have to make it, through the hills and winding curves, as I get so dreadfully carsick on that route. 189 miles (one way!) of nausea. Ugh.
I’m doing some test sewouts of some of the designs I’ll be using for the monkey
quilt, as the last one was embroidered with my 630 so I want to make sure there’s no surprises! Having the threads cut automatically between jumps is such a time saver, I love this features on my 830!
Several people have emailed me and asked where I store my AccuQuilt Studio dies, because they’re large and take up so much space. No fancy solution here! In this sewing room, I use a banquet table that I had a rotary mat custom cut to fit, 29” x 72” as my cutting table. I have my large dies stored below it, and my small dies are in the window. Yep… need to work on that.
I made another cheesecake for my folks (per mom’s request!) and grilled some Italian sausages along with steamed brocolli and Potatos Anna for lunch.
