I am researching a new iron, this is strictly for quilting. This model, the DeLonghi Stiromeglio Compact Pro 300 Ironing System with Pressurized Boiler, has great reviews over at Amazon.
But I’d like some feedback from my fellow quilters if anyone is using this system, or if you have a recommendation for me.
I don’t typically use steam when I’m piecing/pressing my quilt tops, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on that as well. I didn’t stop steaming for any reason other than my old Rowenta began spitting on my fabric, so I bought another, and never put water in it… no spitting! LOL
But, it doesn’t really get hot enough to do a great job, and it’s the top of the line Rowenta Pro.
I’ve heard steaming can distort a block, I’ve also heard you can’t properly press a block without steam.
