She sews!

Yep… I actually did a bit of quilting yesterday. I have had a scrappy quilt on my frame for a couple of months now, almost finished, that I just couldn’t get motivated to complete. Since my frame will be moving downstairs into the attached garage this week, I had to finish it. All quilted!
Can I mention again how much I adore my Bernina 830’s dual feed? Putting
on binding with the #57D foot is fantastic. I like to sew the binding to the back first with the #57D foot, then flip it over and sew it down to the front with the #10D foot, using the fin as a guide.
Speaking of binding, I’m curious… do you typically cut your binding on the bias? I do not, unless I need curved binding for a project.
I am still waiting on my BSR foot to come back so I can finish my monkey quilt, which I had hoped to donate to charity over the holidays, but I am quilting it on the 830 and not my HQ16, so it’s in limbo. My BSR foot went in for a heavy duty spring upgrade. I had decided to quilt the monkey quilt (a baby quilt) with it so I could post my impressions of the 830 and the BSR foot… I didn’t get very far!
Mine skipped like crazy, so I will finish the quilt when it comes back and report in.
