The rolling junkyard

I was watching one of my Kimmy Brunner DVD’s again the other day, and had to chuckle at her description of her longarm, as a “rolling junkyard”, because I do believe my longarm resembles that comment!
On the front right handlebar, I have a pincushion strapped on. That way when I’m loading a quilt to the frame, both hands are free, I just roll the machine along so the pin cushion stays in front of me. I tried a wrist cushion… after stabbing myself a few times I decided that wasn’t for me!
On the QuiltaZoid front stylus, I keep a hair clip. I can’t quilt with my hair down, it gets in my way and it’s hot!
On top of the machine I have two small containers stuck to the top with velcro. The one in front is for all my thread clippings to go into, otherwise I’m a slob and I drop them on the floor as I go… my vacuum cleaner really resents me when I do that. The one behind it holds some essential items, like tweezers, a Vis-a-Vis pen, seam ripper, and a super fine crochet hook for picking out stray threads that may have become trapped under the quilt top.
On the side of my machine, I have two suction cups with hooks. From one my snips hang, and from the other a retractable string with a dental floss threader hangs… I can’t thread a needle without one as I can no longer focus in on the eye of the needle. Think more chocolate would cure that?
I made some blackberry sauce this morning after picking berries again (most of which I froze!). Jim liked the
cheesecake as well as I did, so I figure I’m just going to make one after another as soon as we eat the first until we get sick of it. LOL
Before I forget, I met a new girl at my quilt group the other night. I’m not sure if she is a quilter or not, but she makes the most fabulous dolls! Now before you say “I’m not into dolls” (me either!) go see Paula’s dolls! They are absolutely exquisite little fairies! I do believe I am going to need one of these to perch on top of my longarm.
