Oops...

I loaded the backing fabric and the batting onto my longarm for the blue and green quilt, came upstairs to match some blue thread to the backing, and I’m so grateful that I did!  Ceil left a comment here, noticing that I’d put a white patch in one of the blocks where a green one should go!

Ack!  At least I hadn’t started quilting it, so today I’m going to carefully undo the seams around the patch and replace it with a green one.  Jim and I were flipping through my pantos, and we both decided “Froggin” by Anne Bright was perfect for this quilt, since it’s for a teen!

Jim would like me to applique a frog over the white patch rather than replace it, which would be cute, but I probably won’t.  I’m not that artistic!

I mentioned a blog post or two ago that my quilt group is going to work on the cover quilt of the April 2011 American Patchwork and Quilting magazine together.  Here’s the cover quilt, done in scraps:

I really like that, and might do another in scraps, but the second I saw this quilt it was instantly recolored in my imagination in black, beige, and two shades of green.  Perfect for my new color scheme in our living room, and a more formal look.

I redrew it in EQ, and had fun coloring it.  It will all be done in Moda Marbles, except for the beige.  I don’t know how the greens display on your monitor, but I’ll be using a celery green for the lighter shade, and an avocado green for the darker shade.
