This is bad... very bad!

I think I’m going to get hooked on applique. I don’t want to be addicted to it, it’s too much work! But oh my gosh, aren’t these flowers and leaves fun on here?
The appliques were cut with my AccuQuilt Studio die #50662, “Flowers and Leaves #3”. I fused them down with Shades SoftFuse, I really like this stuff as it’s very thin and soft.
The original pattern has more applique in the center blue star. I can’t decide if I want to add it as well, or save the center star for a beautiful quilt design. Oh wait, it’s me we’re talking about, the panto queen. Perhaps I’ll applique it after all!

This is my second time doing machine applique. Last time, I used monofilament thread and a teensy blanket
stitch, shooting for that “invisible applique” look. This time, I decided to use thick variegated thread and a wider blanket stitch, and I’m really loving the look!
I know it’s not perfect. I can get around the inside corners pretty good, but the outer points are tough for me. I know what I’m “supposed” to do, after all I have books and I can read (LOL) but reading and doing are two different stories! I’ll need a bit of practice to perfect this!
Either way, I love the dimensional look the variegated thread adds.
