Scarves

I finally remembered to take a couple of pictures of the scarves I’ve been working on.  First Jim’s, which I started last year and forgot about… so it will be this winter before he gets to use it, but it’s done and blocked. I personally think it would have looked better with an edge on it, but he didn’t want it that way, and it’s his scarf so…

Cascade yarn, incredibly soft and warm, this is the nicest yarn I think I’ve ever touched.

This one I’m still working on, it’s for me and will be quick and painless, it’s done in a chunky weight yarn on largish (8) needles.

This particular yarn was a little disappointing.  It’s from KnitPicks, and is a blend of silk and wool, but it doesn’t look or feel much different than plain ole’ Redheart yarn.  It’s called “Gloss”, and I guess I was expecting something silkier with a bit of sheen to it.  The color however, is incredible!  It’s not right in my photo, but it’s the color of a rich glass of cabernet held up to the light. Ha!

I was blessed with another toddler quilt in monkey fabrics this morning to quilt for a customer, it just doesn’t get any better than that for me, since toddler quilts are my favorite kind of quilts, and I am crazy about anything with monkeys!  I can’t wait to load it up and quilt it, I was thinking green monkeys at first but the more I look at it the more I see pink monkeys jumping around on it!

I just finished the top for a sock monkey quilt. (picture on my blog) It is awfully blah to me. I wish I could add some blue monkeys to it but my skills do not match yours! Can't wait to see pictures.

I love the color you described for the scarf. I will have to look for some Cascade yarn as I want to try something softer.

Both scarves look great. I especially like the color & pattern of yours. Almost makes me want to try knitting again.

Beautiful finishes! WHat scarf patterns did you use? I love the patterns within each and want to teach myself something other than the garter of continental stitch when I knit. Jane
