Yay my eyes!

Are feeling quite happy this morning!  A week or two ago I decided to reformat my iMac… which I’d formatted over to the NTFS Windows format and was running Windows 7 on it, without the Mac OS.  I liked it because my sewing software all ran at full speed, and I had that lovely large screen.

But I really liked OS X, and missed using it, so I formatted the drive once again, installed the new Lion OS on it, and I am very much enjoying using my Mac as a Mac once again!

That left my laptop to run all my sewing software, but I can’t see well enough to work on a 17 inch display anymore.  I really didn’t want to spend any money on a monitor… and then it occurred to me that we had a nice Sony 31 inch flat screen in our bedroom amoire that never gets used!

Woohoo!  It’s even bigger than my iMac!  I’m going to have to do a bit of re-arranging, my sewing room is a disaster area right now anywhere, but this will work out great.

Sounds like a great solution CJ. I may have to investigate the monitor idea for my sewing room. Although I dislike being tethered to one place and prefer moving around with the laptop. There are some nice larger screen laptops so I may investigate those. My eyes are not what they used to be. Regarding Lion---I uploaded it when it first came out. There are mixed feelings on this update, and if could go back to Leopard, I would. jmho. See how it goes for you. It was O.K. in the beginning but the more I use it, the more I miss Leopard.

Too funny. My son hooks his computer to the large TV. It just blows my mind. Good luck on rearranging.

I did that for my husband about 2 years ago. He loves it. Now when and if his monitor/tv goes out, he won't go back to a small one. I created a 'Monster" but that is fine. Plus don't know if you know it--you can get an inexpensive 30" +/- a lot less than the same size monitor. Think we will be purchasing another one.

Good luck in getting your studio arranged.

Now could you please download your brain to my brain so that I could figure out how to do all that?

Amazing you use the large monitor in laptop so that you could see it all. How about change your windows 7 to Linux OS?

Have you tried Parallels? It is an Mac software that allows both OS and Windows to be running on the computer at the same time. I have an iMac with Windows XP for my embroidery software. I haven't updated since I bought my iMac, so I hope that it holds out for a long time. I really like XP. I don't go online with the Windows operating side at all. Not as big of a concern of viruses with the iMac side.
