Donation quilt
Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 2:48PM A friend of mine whipped up this easy quilt for a gal in her church who was diagnosed with cancer this winter, and I just finished quilting it for her. I love the way the feathers dressed it up!
Tomorrow Dee and I are headed towards Fort Smith to visit Mama’s Log House… I need to find a red and a green fabric to go with my focus fabric I chose for my Glacier Star. When I have all my fabrics, I’ll post a picture. I’ve only seen these done in batiks. I’m using a black and red floral for my focus fabric, it’s the “Aboretum” line by Sentimental Studios for Moda. Hopefully I’ll find what I need tomorrow!
Oh… here’s the focus fabric.
My star points will all be solid black.

have fun on your shopping trip - it is supposed to be a bad rain tomorrow, to bad but have fun and drive safe.

Love your quilting, I have a stack of quilts that need quilting.....
Today I spent $10 at a thrift store on a Singer 301A (mocha short bed) with carrying case, all in pristine condition. The electrical had also been updated. I need to take it in for oiling and degreasing, etc. I am thinking that the owner didn't sew much.
The more I look at it, the more I love it. It's so cute.
I am possessed.

Your feathers look great. Did you free hand them or use a panto?
Sandy, what a steal! How wonderful for you! The 301 is an awesome little machine!
Whose feather design did you use? Looks like something I would like to add to my design collection! It's a very nice design and really makes the quilt look nice!
It looks awesome -- now to focus, clear OFF the table and square it so I can bind it
