A quilt shop that's with the times!

I was so excited this morning to stumble across a quilt shop offering ONLINE virtual classes!  I recently saw a picture of a quilt, “Glacier Star” by Judy Niemeyer, and fell in love.  I have avoided her patterns in the past because I both dislike paper/foundation piecing, and overly complicated patterns, but I can’t resist this one.

I have no desire to do it in batiks, mine will be done in Moda Marbles.  But, I still probably wouldn’t have comitted to this pattern until I did a search for the quilt, and purely by chance ran across SeaWatch Fabrics, offering an online class on this quilt, starting in just a few days!  Just in the nick of time!

I’ve signed up, and will give them a call today to see if they can email me the fabric requirement so I can pick mine out before the class starts on Monday, as my pattern won’t likely arrive before then.

Online classrooms… AWESOME!

that is a beautiful quilt pattern. I too love her patterns and I have made two of her easier patterns (hand pieced) but if I ever do another one I will paper piece it - I don't have as much patience as I used to have and learned more than I did back when I made those two.

Moda Marbles.....an absolute must have!!! Will anxious to follow along with your progress. Paper piecing is definitely not 'my thing' so not even tempted!

Holy Cow! That's beautiful but prob something I would never try - even tho I kinda like paper piecing, fyi, your link to the online class brings up the glacier star pattern, can't wait to see what you do with this.

Have fun. The Judy Niemeyer quilts are hot in my area. Glacier Stars abound.
I'm working on Sand Devils right now. The pattern instructions are easy to read and the local teacher is wonderful. Keeps the class on pace and is full of tips.
