A Tunic to love...

Finally!

I have been looking for some time, for a tunic pattern that I really like.  This morning I found a Kwik Sew one that is perfect!  It’s Kwik Sew 3478, view B.

I love it!  It looks easy enough to make… garment sewing is not my forte by any means, but since there’s no collar and it has a bias cut binding all around, I think I can handle it.  It should be a great project to try out the new Bernina binder on!

I ordered several cuts of hanky weight linen in black, ivory and oatmeal for it.  If you know me at all, you know I’d never wear a fabric like in the picture, but something solid that I can embroider, or maybe do some cutwork on, would be wonderful!

That would make a great tutorial wouldn’t it?  I recently purchased Camtasia and would like to start doing tutorials again… I have more free time during the winter months, and I’ll have more SPACE once the studio is built.

Now if I could just find the right pants pattern!

I managed to get nearly seven hours of sleep last night!  These days, that’s miraculous!  I had blueberry muffins hot out of the oven before six o’clock, and bacon crisping while I made Jim’s tea.  Today, my house is overdue for a cleaning!

Sounds like you woke up ambitious today. Canning a couple batches of tomatoes here today. Then picking the next batch in the mud since it decided to be rainy here. Work at the library tomorrow then head out to watch the grand kids for the holiday weekend while daughter & son-in-law head to Vegas to celebrate her 40th. Hey....I didn't get to go anywhere fun for my 40th!!!

Love it, CJ. I am SEW into making garments right now. However, I do have several quilt tops to get quilted and bound for the holidays..and two within the next week for the school raffles.

A week from tomorrow I'm taking a PANTS class (if you want to call it that). A bunch of ladies measure one another, "MAKE" the pattern from Swedish Tracing paper and stitch them out on muslin. It'll be wonderful having someone ELSE measure me. I've always found that's the toughest thing to do - to really SEW for oneself and make it "just right" without taking on and off a hundred times.

BTW - did you get my FB message I sent a couple days ago?

If you don't find a pants pattern and aren't against leggings, leggings would look good with this top. And they look sooooo comfortable!

I like the plain front pants from Brensan Studios. First ones I have ever found that fit me right! Brensan.com is the web site.
