Simmering...
Friday, August 26, 2011 at 3:47PM The next cover in line is for my serger. I’ve had it for four years, and it’s never had a cover, shame on me! It’s less than half the size of my Bernina 830, so I want it be less busy.
Same fabrics of course, but the “quieter” ones. It may not look anything at all like this in the end, but this is the first thing that “picked” itself out of my pile of goodies. Reminds me of a Tuxedo!
I will lay my fabrics and ribbons, threads, appliques… anything I think I might want to use in a pile on the floor and just start re-arranging things. Once the “bones” have been decided on, I move to the computer and see if there’s any embroidery I want to incorporate.
I’m pretty sure I want the three dark tone on tones in this one, as I think I’d like to use those same decorative stitches I put on the first cover on them, in ivory… only in a heavier thread. DMC Perle cotton #8 is what I had in mind… or the heaviest thread I can use on top without resorting to bobbin work. I will obviously have to play!
Meanwhile, I have a customer quilt to work on, in gorgeous, luscious fabrics that are so “me” I’m going to have a hard time parting with it when I’m done! It’ll probably be the end of next week before I get back to my next cover, so I’ll have lots of time to think about it!

Love your covers. The colors are great.
You are making me nuts!! I want to sew/play but my 830 is in the shop for it's belated one-year servicing, and due to problems with the source of parts, it's still gone after two weeks. So stop playing and having fun and think of me, forced to clean house because I can't stitch. (I do, of course have other machines, but everything I want to do needs the 830.)
Oh, CJ!! I love what you have laying out! Go with it!!
