Yep, I was lazy

I skipped the appliqué border idea and added the final white border, this top is ready to be quilted!

I wanted to get it done and up on a hanger so I could load the tie dyed backing and get the tshirt quilt ready to go… which is about halfway done now, but oooooohhhh mmyyyyyy gaaawwwddd!  Now I know why all the longarmers I asked told me not to take a tshirt quilt without interfacing on the back.  I had a test one to try on, and decided it wouldn’t be too hard to tackle, but it is.  It’s very, very difficult.  I’ve spent more time ripping than sewing.  I think today I’m going to give it a rest!

We have plenty of fresh tomatoes and basil in the garden now, so last night for dinner I whipped up some pizza crusts, and we topped them with garlic marinated in olive oil, red pepper flakes, lots of basil (it’s under the cheese so it won’t burn), fresh tomatoes and portabella mushrooms, pure bliss!

I think tonight we’re going to have BLT’s for dinner, I just started some whole wheat dough.

Maybe I’ll finish that final elephant block today?

Since I don't own a longarm I can only imagine the problems. The t-shirt quilts I made last winter were interfaced. The first I did in the "quilt as you go" method. Went very well. Did another (90×88) FMQ on the Juki. Will have to say, I was very pleased at the final results. Presented no problems at all (did notice that the weight of that quilt was certainly more pronounced than that of quilts of similar size). Used my "Super Slider", "Batts" and modified machine foot (removed the spring and opened up the circular foot). Doreen

I wouldn't even try a t-shirt quilt :) I have heard horror stories.
I love the pizza - so much that I might make one tonight.
My garden is horrible this year and I have little growing right now. I have 7 tomato plants and have maybe a dozen tomato's growing right now!! pitiful. My green pepper plants are growing but not one pepper on them still, I'm about ready to pull them up!

One of the first things that I read about making a t-shirt quilt was interfacing. My niece asked me to make her one and I am pre-beginner, so I keep hoping that she forgets the idea.

Okay CJ, you sold me. I'm going to have to make one of those quilts. So fresh and crisp looking.

Beautiful quilt! Your quilts are always so perfectly square! I also want to tackle a t-shirt quilt. 
