A day of rest...

On his way to work this morning, Jim asked me what I was up to today.  I told him absolutely nothing, I thought I’d maybe play with some sewing if anything. It was a long weekend and I’m really tired!

My day began with making Jim waffles for breakfast, and packing his lunch.  I stripped the bed and washed the linens and hung them out to dry, then started another load of laundry.

Jim left for work and I fed and watered the chickens, rabbits and geese, then moved on to watering the garden.  I picked a small bowl of strawberries while I was at it.

Next I started some whole wheat bread and had it rising on the counter while a customer dropped off a couple of quilts for me to quilt.  After she left, I baked the bread.

All before ten o’clock.  As soon as the linens are dry, the bed will have to be made, and the rest of the laundry taken down and put away. Dinner still has to be prepped, lunch made, the dogs need walking and I’m still waiting to sit down and put my feet up for a bit, before I sew.  So much for resting!

it seems like we are always busier than we intend to be aren't we! You cook a lot more than I do though - I only make breakfast for Mike one day a week or so :) and lunch is sandwich or leftovers for me.

Sounds like a typical day except for the chickens, rabbits and geese. Hope you squeezed in at least a little sewing time.

you sound like Ma Ingalls on Little House! Btw, I got a clothesline per your recommendation and absolutely love it.

Glad you like it Beth! I just love mine! It shaves about $40 off our electric bill every month too!

Glad to see you are back to posting. Sure did miss you. I love the smell of laundry that is hung outside. Hope you find time to sew.
