Top's done!
Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 5:55AM We got snow! About three inches! It’s absolutely gorgeous! Of course it’ll be melted off by this afternoon I’m sure, but I’m going to enjoy it while it’s here.
I spent the day working on the blue and green comfort quilt yesterday, and put the last border on this morning, right after I loaded a whole peppered ham onto the smoker at four o’clock. I’m hoping it will be done fairly early in the afternoon, so Jim and I can shave it up for lunchmeat.
It just barely fit into our smoker… I think it’s about twenty pounds, so there’s going to be a whole lot of lunch meat! I figure it will take us a couple of hours at least to shave it all up, vacuum seal and freeze it into small packages, which is why I started it so early this morning.
I finally caved and went back on my HRT last week. I’d stopped taking them in the fall, and switched over to black cohosh, which I thought was working… but it would seem the drugs simply hadn’t left my system yet. I started feeling worse and worse until Jim said, “I think it’s time you reconsider”. Hmmm… okay sweetie! But he’s right, I’m already feeling better and starting to sleep again!
No plans here for the weekend, other than finally getting to spread my lettuce and spinach seeds on the snow!

I love that quilt and appreciate all the work that goes into it. Whomever receives will have a treasure that they will be proud to own and that will be functional. I agree that the "comfort" quilts should be somethinf we would also be proud to own.
That's a wonderful quilt, CJ. It reminds me of looking out of windows. :)
It's lovely! Did you leave out one green square on purpose? I would love to know how you come up with something like this. Is it an original design that you make using a computer program? Just wonderful and someone would be very comforted to get it.
I've probably told you before but for HRT, I take a pill about every third day. That's enough that I'm able to sleep good but if I forget to take them, after a week or so, the first thing I notice is I'm not sleeping so well.
I love your quilt and think anyone would feel very blessed to receive it.
