Goodbye Dr. Love!

Well it was a great idea anyway.  My Brookstone foot and calf massager (Dr. Love) arrived late yesterday afternoon… imagine my excitment!  I was sooooo ready for a nice long massage!  Alas even on the lowest massage setting it was painful to my calves… and not nearly intense enough for my feet.  This morning I thought I’d try it again, and the minute it clamped down on my bruised calves I about bawled!

So it’s going back.  I have to say though, Brookstone customer service is outstanding.  I expected to pay return shipping, but they issued me a prepaid UPS label!  Since it weighs about 50lbs, I knew shipping was going to be a chunk, so I’m extremely pleased about that!

I might order the plain foot massager, and see if it works any better for me.

I was very tired yesterday, and after my doctor’s appointment in the morning, I spent the rest of the day working on Jim’s scarf.  That’s not a very good picture I’m afraid, I took it very early this morning when it was still dark outside.

Tomorrow I have to go in for a pelvic ultrasound, and I’m supposed to drink 6-8 glasses of water one to two hours before hand! If anyone has any tips at all on how you manage to hang onto the old bladder for an hour or two with that much water in it, I’d be much obliged if you share them!  I’m thinking at best, I’ll take the water in the car with me and chug it on the way… and just maybe, I’ll be able to make it!

I did wonder how the calf massage would be. I thought I had seen this at the Brookstone store last year and thought it might be painful. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
I don't envy you all that water-yup I would be running to the bathroom.
That was Dee's quilt you showed yesterday wasn't it? Turned out great - she sure used bright colors.

I hate when I look forward to something that I think I will love and then I hate it.

I have had to drink 2 liters of water before a test too. DON'T wear tight pants. LOL!!

How sad that the relationship was not successful. Sometimes it is like that.

The scarf is really looking great. The more I see that pattern the better I like it.

Hi there
I would get there about an hour early if you can then glug your litre or two of water down as quick as poss, al least if your're setting still and not driving and moving too much it will be less irritating on the bladder

i had to drink 40 oz. I drank half before I left and the rest on the way. As long as it is at least 20 minutes before the exam, you should be fine. I was told to drink one hour before.

I went to my appointment an hour early, took my bottles of water with me and drank while I was waiting the hour. I made it but a real relief when it was all over.

I found a Doc who doesn't make you do that! After my 11 pound baby, I don't do well with having to drink water like that. The newer machines don't require you to drink water....must've been a women who designed them :) Hope it goes well!

I love Hotel Cal's answer - that's exactly what I'd have to do! I've had a pelvic ultrasound and remember drinking the water but I was much younger so holding on to the water was much easier than it is now. :) blessings, marlene
