I can't move!

It was gorgeous day here in the Ozarks yesterday, so nice that Jim and I were outside in tshirts!  We had one of the most enjoyable Christmas days I think I’ve ever had… and all we did was work!

We built a big bonfire and pulled all the punky logs from the edge of the woods where the privacy fence was, and burned them.  Nothing like the smell of oak burning on a crisp, sunny day!  We raked all the gravel that had washed down the road from the significant rain we’ve had over the past month back onto the driveway, moved all of the wood from the old privacy fence into a stack behind the shop (it was still piled in the side yard by the house), and made it halfway through chipping off the concrete on the pile of 4 x 4 fence posts that still have cement encased around them where they were buried.

We crawled into the house just as the sun was going down, and watched the remastered version of Gone with the Wind.  Not only did we not consume tons of food, we worked off some calories!

Today my parents will be joining us for Christmas lunch.  We won’t be doing anything traditional!  I am going to make Pasta Pasquallini (fettuccine in cream sauce with bacon and zucchini) as I thought my parents would get a kick out seeing pasta made from scratch.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

I loved your version of Christmas Day. I love to burn brush, in fact I thought about it here today in Mid-Missouri, but they are calling for rain later in the day. Also the hubby is in northern Missouri deer hunting.
Enjoy your parent day!

I had a wonderful Christmas! :) That's such a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas. Me? Well, the whole family came and we all talked, bonded, ate, talked, and bonded again.
