A quick stocking!
Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 8:12AM I bought the most gorgeous stocking at Tuesday Morning the other day for a whole $16! I couldn’t make it for that, but they only had one so I decided to whip up another.
Mine of course is much simpler, but I’m pleased with it! I used some oatmeal linen for the stocking and the ruffled band, pre-made miniature crocheted doiles behind the buttons, and just some lace every inch and a half up the front of the stocking, which I grid hatched first.
I used the Soft and Stable again for the batting, I really love that stuff! It was quite difficult to turn the point of that toe out however!
I would like to try a more elaborate stocking, but I don’t have time right now. This one works and we’ll call it Jim’s… I want the big one!
Speaking of, he and I are off to Little Rock for the day to do some shopping. I want to go to the quilt shop, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn and the Fresh Market. I think the Flyin’ Fish for lunch!

I love the Christmas tree, mantel decorations and your stocking. I think you got the better deal with your stocking - I much prefer it to the store bought!
Lovely setting! Your creation is so refreshingly different from the usual that is out there. The ivory lace/satin really does compliment but I, too, have to go with that larger stocking......just being practical!-D
I really like your stocking. The linen and lace gives it more of a tailored look but the shape gives it a Victorian touch. Very very pretty. It sounds like a fun day in LR. Where is the quilt shop you mentioned?
I, too, prefer your stocking!
And Oh, to be able to go to those stores!
