Gasp! Oh no!

We have a problem at the Tinkle household. Vintage mania has overtaken both Jim and I!  Me… the featherweights.  Jim, the 301’s.

But… the first 301 finally arrived today.  I called Jim to tell him it was here and do you know what he said?  “Do NOT open it!  Do NOT plug it in!  Do NOT TOUCH IT until I get home”!

But of course I opened it.  Who could resist?

That was a mistake.  It’s beautiful.  I’m in love.  And this one is a beater, it needs help.  I’m still in love.  It’s much more petite than it looks in pictures!

One of the four he ordered will be mine, so sorry sweetheart!

I think a 401A wants to come live here too.

Could this die hard Bernina girl turncoat and become a vintage Singer addict?

I am a Bernina Junkie, and I still love my Singers -- the old ones; not the new ones. I often piece on my featherweight and my 301. I have a sewing machine in every room! (Well, not the bathroom - Lol.

Then you'll want all the vintage tables that go with them!

Maybe you should collect vintage machines of all types and have a machine museum!

You two are addicted to vintage, for sure! What color or colors are your 301's? I love them too. They are so portable, too. I love that handle. They are a nice machine.

I hope you get a 221 and 222 soon and love them. Hmmmm, and possibly a 401 too!

I agree with Yvette - where is the picture(s)?

Have fun, you two.

LOL...It seems that you were instrumental in starting me down this path. I went slowly and just bought the one. It arrived today and he had just gotten home. I started taking her apart. As soon as I turned my back he took over. He LOVES it. Told me to buy another.

The thing is I have wanted a 99 for years and that keeps getting put on hold. I am thinking you and I are going to be purchasing several machines in the near future and not a one of them will come with a warranty or service contract!

It gets so you can't say no. It's hard to see one sitting there neglected. I have 1 black featherweight, 3 tan 301's, my Mom's 401, and I just got my grandmother's 66 from my cousin. The 66 will be a restoration project. I may put it in a treadle cabinet, or a wood dome top cabinet if I can find one. The Yahoo groups vintagesinger and wefixit are great resources, as is the ISMACS site.

Yes you can be a Bernina and Vintage Singer junkie! I have a collection of both models, plus a few others and I love them all. Both of you will have a blast with all of them.
