My model is ready!

No laughing at the poor girl, she’s just put together out of some scrap fabric, created to be a model for a dress.  I don’t know if standard 18 inch doll clothes will fit an 18 inch teddy bear or not, but I’ve a mad desire to try my hand at this!

My first attempt at a dress will likely be made with Osnaburg, or maybe linen.  Osnaburg is much less expensive in case (likely!) I screw it up, but oh my how I love the look and feel of linen!

It probably won’t be until right around Christmas that I actually have time to get back to this, but I wanted the bear ready to go for the fitting process.

This week and next I need to wrap up the remaining customer quilts I have left to do and get them shipped off and returned.

I am having a lot of trouble with my mail server, so I apologize if you aren’t getting any response from me to your emails.  Some I send go through after a couple tries, many more are coming back to me as undeliverable.  Since there are so many, I realize it must be a problem with my server.

On another note… if you could custom paint a Singer 301, what color would you pick?

I can visualize some embroidery on your bear. Did you have fun making her? The clothes will be even MORE fun - trust me on that one!! I LOVE making our DGD 18" doll clothes for her two dolls - LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. And what I love most is that she plays with them ALL !!!

Have a wonderful day, CJ

What a cute bear. Whether or not 18" doll clothes will fit the bear depend on the doll's body style. This bear is quite a bit chunkier than the 18" American Girl doll, for instance.

Regarding painting a 301.... I once saw a gorgeous metallic navy machine that really appealed to me. Oh, so many colors to choose from.

PS I think your new Featherweight deserves a more "petite" spool of thread. ha ha

Lime green with purple accents.

I actually liked the claret color of the your featherweight. My second choice would be blue, that reminds me of the color of the ocean...since we are land locked.
