Happy Thanksgiving!

I wanted to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families, or if you are spending it alone, enjoy the peace and solitude!

It will just be Jim and I here this year, and while we regret not being with our families, we are looking forward to relaxing together, not something we get to do very often.  I’m going to make a very simple meal.  I have a small 10lb turkey to roast, I’ll make dressing with sausage, pecans and apples, mashed potatoes with garlic and cream cheese, cranberry chutney and a pumpkin pie.  Nothing elaborate, just the things we both enjoy pigging out on!

What will you be cooking, or are you going out or to a family members home?  Any special plans for the long weekend?

Whatever you are doing, enjoy it and God bless!

I am so very thankful for so many blessings in my life. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, as well. My husband is brining and roasting two 10 lb. turkeys this year so there's plenty of dark and white meat for the 12 of us. This way, our older grand kids will each have a drumstick! I'm making all of the sides, mashed potatoes, candied yams, stuffing, gravy, cranberry salad mold, pumpkin and apple pies, green bean and corn casseroles. Our oldest son and his wife enjoy making all kinds of bread from scratch so they provide the dinner rolls at all of our family dinners. After dinner, the grand kids will be staying overnight with us while their parents can do Christmas shopping on Friday. And I am so very thankful that I do not need to go out shopping on Black Friday!!

Thanksgiving Blessings to you and Jim. We will be traveling to St. Paul for dinner. Temps in the mid to upper 50's will make for an enjoyable trip along the Mississippi River road! Doreen

17 people to serve here at my house! But I only have to make about half the stuff. Our favorites are my buttermilk/chive mashed potatoes with skins on and herb paste in the roast turkey.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I have it easy this year, so I only have some desserts and a hashbrown casserole to make for Friday (2nd celebration).
I haven't been blog reading lately, so I am catching up with yours today. Love the bunnies, excited that hubby is bitten by then sewing machine bug and will be watching for studio updates. Fun times with CJ!

Hope you both have a peaceful & happy Thanksgiving. Ours will be smaller this year, but good to get together with close family. Enjoy your "new" machines. I have to check out the feather weight I have that was my mother's. Still works great. Peace, Diane

we got to Wisconsin to our daughters house in time to help make pecan pie - the pumpkin pies were already done. She has a huge 20 pound turkey so I imagine we will have turkey sandwiches for several days for lunch. We will have all the trimmings - the refrigerator is full, we are stuffed from finger foods this evening - I think when we drive home on Sunday I will be wearing sweats because I swear I will have gained 5 pounds easily in the 3 1/2 days that we are here!!

I am having dinner at my house, but am lucky everyone makes something for the dinner. There will be only 11 people this year. That is small to what we are used to. My husband will be driving at 4AM from Sheboygan, WIS. about 3 1/2 hrs away. I told him to wait till early morning so he misses the traffic at O'hara airport. Lots of quilt shops having sales this weekend and good deals on Bernina's... so you never know what I will come home with. I do love my 240 and 630 and the Deco.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Jim. Enjoy your time together!! Geri

Hi CJ, I have 3 301's, unintentionally. I just cannot stand to leave them sitting in a thriftshop. I can't decide if I like them better than my Featherweight, definitely not as cute. I will probably re-sell at least 2 of them. They are a great machine! I bought another Bernina recently, an older 910 mechanical from 1983. It is not my 440 but it is sweet! Happy Thanksgiving to you and Jim! We came down from Oregon to visit family in Northern California.

Sounds like you'll have a great day! We'll be joining friends. All I'm making is a green bean casserole. Can't get any easier than that. I might even get to sew a bit.
