And then there were three!

Yep, Jim now has a total of three Singer 301’s on the way, with possibly one more.  I hope not, but possible.  He wants to keep two, and restore and sell two, or use them for parts… whatever.

So we had the studio discussion again (because there certainly isn’t room in the house for anymore sewing machines!) and agreed that it wasn’t going to work as an add-on to his shop.  In the end (yes!) I am going to have my way, my studio is going to be built out in the woods, alongside the creek!  Only I have this suspicion that I’m going to be sharing this space!  More expensive, because it’s a ways to trench in water and electricity, but worth it in the end.  Weather providing, when Jim takes some time off somewhere around Christmas, we are going to start clearing for it and the road to it!

We are NOT hiring a dozer to do it this time, they cleared far more than we were happy with when we built Jim’s shop, so we’re going to do it by hand.  Well with the help of the tractor!

I picked up some ribbons this morning.  I have some fun ideas in mind for these!

Jim is in the process of building a temporary work table out in his shop. Temporary because he’s building it out of wood, and he prefers metal tables, but has to restore his equipment before he can build a metal one.  I’m intrigued because while Jim is brilliant at many things, a carpenter he is not. He put white laminate on 3/4 inch plywood.  He wasn’t going to put the nice edge around it but I’ve asked him to do so, because if he can make it nice enough, perhaps I’ll hire him to build my work table! But I want to see samples first!  Ha!  I had him build me a chicken coop once… we won’t go there.

And these just for fun…

They’re about a week and a half old now.

if you are building by a creek make sure it isn't going to flood from all the rain we get sometimes! Sounds nice :)

Well, bless your heart, a building of your own!!!! We women know how to get what we want even though it takes some roundabout finagling (not too sure on that spelling!). We just have to make our men think it was their idea and we eventually get what we wanted in the first place!!! Congratulations!!!!!

Cj I'm bidding on a black 301. The bid is at $55. Hope he doesn't want it. Have a nice Thanksgiving. Thank you for all your tutorials. Love your posts.

Cj, I've been outbursts. What is the top price for me to pay for this? I'm thinking $75.00. Mainly because I could by one from Jim when he fixes one of the ones he won!

CJ,

Hope you had a nice restful Thanksgiving. Your studio to be sounds delightful. Seems we can never have enough room. My DH tells me if I have any extra room it doesn't take long for me to fill it. The baby bunnies are adorable!!
