Mini lone star done!

Well, I still have to stitch the binding down on the backside, and the hanging sleeve.

Even though this is for my upcoming studio, I’ll be hanging it upstairs in my sewing room, it looks so cute with my new sewing machine covers!

I used Quilters Dream Deluxe cotton batting on this one, I had a craft size and I’ve never used it on a quilt because most people don’t like the the thick batting, nor the expense of it.  I myself prefer either wool or the select weight typically, but I’m contemplating making a king sized quilt for our bedroom… actually layering this with a layer of wool.  I would love the density and loft, but I’m concerned that the weight of it could pose a problem when it’s wet from washing.

I’ll have to block my little wall hanging when I get the binding finished, it’s not quite square… I’ll confess my lonestars never are quite square!  This one was worse than usual, I had a nasty little bulge in the center that I ended up taking it to my embroidery machine and stitching a little flower to on top to hold it down!  LOL

I like how you custom quilting this one and not use a panto - it looks great with the designs you did.

Beautiful!! Did you use templates, stencils or freehand on your feather designs?

I love this! I'm getting a headache trying to figure out how you did the pieced border so that the red sq is in the middle and the reds on each end look the same size! And I really like the little flower in the middle, going to have to remember that trick ;)

Very Nice. I love the colors and the wall hanging itself. You can't go wrong with red if you ask me!

CJ, It's beautiful. Did you use your embroidery unit to quilt the corners & wedges? I think I recognize them from the software. I really like the fabrics you used. Diane in CT

I think it is the season for not quite square quilts and budges here and there. Oh, and sometimes a wavy border or two. lol

Beautiful quilt, CJ. Love the colors!

Congrats on your serger tutorial being featured on the We All Sew website. It makes me want to trade in my 20+ year old model for a new Bernina so I can make this lovely cover for it!
