The next cover tutorial...

Is in the making!  I’m spending the day on creating the Bernina 830/820 machine cover tutorial.  Of course it will be very similar to the one I did on the Bernina 1300MDC serger, since I want all my new covers to match!  I should have it done in the next few days.

Recently Bernina International (at least, I think that’s where I found it!) Australia (thanks Trish and Chris!) posted a free “Bernina” embroidery design, and I think I’d like to add it to the 830 cover this time.  To see how it might look, I took a picture of my cover as it looks right now.  I saved the image as a jpeg file, then in the Bernina embroidery software, I went to the Settings menu, Fabric Display, and selected Fabric->Centered, and browsed over to my saved image file.

Then I simply inserted the embroidery file, played with the thread colors, and moved the embroidery motif around to see if and where I liked it.  Pretty cool eh?  Sometimes I need to do things like this to see how my ideas look.

I am looking forward to your tutorial. :) Would love that Bernina design but can't seem to find it on Bernina International or the USA website.

I was wondering if you can share that free "Bernina" embroidery design? :)

I'm asking one of the Yahoo groups if they remember where it came from! Ack! Memory is the first thing to go... well right after that waistline anyway.

I looked at the Bernina international site and didn't find the design. If you happen to remember where you got it, can you let me know? I love it! (Of course it could be there and I'm too dense to find it... )

The Bernina embroidery design on your lastest machine cover is beautiful. It makes me wish I had the embroidery package on my 630 machine. I didn't think I would ever want to do embroidery!

I've looked everywhere on m,y computer & can't find the design, but I know I've seen it somewhere. You're right, the mind is the first thing to go after (maybe before) the waist, the knees, the back, etc. It will be beautiful, but I too won't be able to get to it until after the holidays--which are coming all too fast. Thanks for this. Diane in CT

Thanks to Trish for finding it on the Australian Bernina site! There are a bunch of different free designs to download there too - under "inspiration" on the left.

I've bought the fabric to make your serger cover for my 1300MDC and am so looking forward to your tutorial for the 830 cover! Since I have the LE, I plan to embroider the LE logo on my cover. That just leaves my 430 coverless -- maybe I can adapt one of these to fit. Thanks for all your hard work -- or should I say "play".

Your quilts look great! Thanks for the Bernina logo. I am new to V6 and didn't realize I could use a picture to do like you did with the logo. Thanks!
