Playing!

I haven’t had much time on the computer with my son here, but did play briefly this morning with the Yuletide Magic quilt borders.

I’m rather liking the addition of a partial log cabin border, with more enlarged snowflakes added… not sure if I can resize them that much but I think I will have to sew a test sample as I really like this!  Of course, by the time I finish adding more borders to complete it, it will have gone well past a wall quilt size!

As you can see, I still have made up my mind about the center block (13 inches).  This is my EQ rendition, so I’m having fun playing with it.  With the addition of the log cabin borders, I’m thinking a large star block in the center might look better than the embroideries. I’m in no hurry with this one, but am really enjoying the making of it, so who knows yet what my end product will be!

The center star seems to be the "anchor" that was needed in the center. The chosen borders work very nicely!!!! D

I really like it. The log cabin border with the enlarged snowflakes looks perfect with the middle section and the red star in the middle adds the POW.

I like it very much. I just ordered some Michael Miller fabric, & hopefully I'll get to this quilt this year! I just need to know how to enter the fabric line into EQ. I'm signing up for an EQ class at my quilt shop. Thanks for the inspiration. Diane in Glastonbury, CT

Cj, I love that center star!
How do you cut and piece that though? Is it half sq triangles or rectangles?
It would make a beautiful table topper out of my Christmas fabric!!
Thanks,
Karen in GA
