Redwork Quilt
Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 11:30AM I took this one off the longarm this morning. This quilt is pieced and the red-work beautifully hand-stitched by one of the ladies here locally in my guild. She had originally intended to hand quilt it, but as happens to all of us, time got away from her and the eleventh hour was here.
She chose the classic Baptist Fan design, and it really looks cute!
I love the polka dot backing fabric! I think I’m going to have to start adding some polka dots to my stash, each quilt I see with them I just love!

I love polka dots too. I have some on my shelf right now black with white dots, pink with white dots and I thought I had white with black dots but I don't see it - must have used it up. Besides backing it makes a nice contrast to use for sashing sometimes too.
The quilt turned out great.

It's absolutely adorable! Were you at all nervous about stitching over the redwork? I would be terrified. Love the polka dots. I need to start adding then to my stash too.
Cute quilt!!
What is that do-dad thing you use to get perfect fan shapes/spirals/circles and other designs? I can not for the life of me remember what it is called. You posted about it awhile back not long after you got the new longarm.
I love, Love , LOVE polka dots! They are just so fun and completely cheerful! I use allot of them and am addicted to modern fabric collections with polka dots in them! The redwork quilt is beautiful... how do you do it??? I am still freaked at the thought of quilting someone else's quilt... ACK! Was it hard to quilt over the redwork?
Love the polka dots and the whole quilt. It is so "happy" looking. Once again, your quilting is great.
