Happy New Year! (I know, I'm late)

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s holiday!  As much as we enjoyed having family down over the holidays, New Year’s had me lazing around with my feet up, either watching movies or with my nose in a book, I was exhausted!

We had Jim’s son and his girlfriend down all week… it’s amazing how much young people eat.  Amazing.  And I eat like a horse myself!

I’m not sure what’s going on with that expression on my face.  Very typical.  And why I rarely get in any photographs!

This morning I made it back up to my sewing room, tore out the crooked plaid section in my pillow, cut a new one and embroidered it, making sure this time the tension was good!

First project of the year!  One more to go, and then I plan on re-doing the first one.

The kids both drink coffee, which I’d sworn off some time ago.  Of course it was there, and there was absolutely no way I could resist it.  In fact it tasted so outright fabulous I thought I’d swoon on the spot!  Greg also brought me some yummy coffee for Christmas, and so I decided right then and there to order myself one of those new fangled coffee pots that just brews a single cup at a time.

Yippee!  I can’t wait for it to arrive!  I searched and searched for one that would let you use your own coffee and not have to purchase those cup or disc type thing-a-ma-jigs, and this one seems to be very popular.

It’s a Breville BKC700XL Gourmet Single-Serve Coffeemaker with Iced-Beverage Function.  It can do tea as well, so Jim can use it too.

The thought of a mini cup of coffee each morning… and maybe one after dinner… ooh la la!

Great that you're back online and have fixed the pillow! If Jim drinks tea, I think you'd be kind to splurge and buy him the Breville One-Touch Tea Maker BTM800XL. http://www.brevilleusa.com/tea/one-touch-tea-maker.html

Coffee always imparts its flavor into my tea somehow and this baby will eliminate that problem. Plus it's time we tea-drinkers got a machine of our own. (and Mrs. Tea does not count) :)

Family for the holidays...nice.

Family gone after the holidays...priceless.

Coffee - anytime.

I had found a one cup at a time coffee maker where you could use your grounds a couple years ago at Williams Sonama - it lasted a year and quit! couldn't find another, they stopped making them I guess. Now I just make due with a 12 cup pot and just make a half pot when I am by myself - cups are so big now that using a 12 oz cup the half pot gives me about 2 cups of coffee.
Glad you had a good visit
I don't pose well for photo's either

We are enjoying the new Keurig DH got for Christmas. He makes coffee using the refillable things for it and I use the hot water for tea and cocoa. We're both happy campers!

I will waiting for a retailed pro and con report of this new pot. You do these well, and it's hard to trust only people who rave everytime.

Thanks, Marty

I got myself a little 4-cup pot that has a metal pot, not glass. That makes enough for morning coffee. My coffee mugs are so large, so the brewed amount is only about 1.5 of my cups!

We use a regular drip coffeemaker for our morning coffee, but a couple of months ago I splurged and bought a Nespresso espresso machine. I love espresso, and DH has become a convert, too. This thing makes the best espresso I've ever had.Yes, I have to use the little pods, but I order them and have them in my hands two days later -- no kidding! Yum! One nice thing about the pods is that they don't deteriorate as an open can of coffee can do. :)

I am hooked and need my 2 cups of coffee each morning. I decided to use decaf about a month ago, but it's not the same. I'm back to regular coffee in the morning and decaf if I decide I need a coffee and cookie break in the afternoon.

CJ on coffee. I cannot imagine it. You get so much done now, you will be a real whirlwind on caffeine!

I love coffee too, but I have to have fresh ground beans. How easy it is to become a coffee snob!

Also, your new pillows are fantastic. It must be fun for Jim to come home and discover how much the house has changed.
