No storm, LOL
Monday, January 10, 2011 at 9:29AM All that excitement, and it passed us by mostly! We got just a bit under two inches, which was still lovely!
Some places south of us (what’s up with that?) got six inches! I think Little Rock got quite a bit of snow.
Jim said the roads were very icy and I-40 was one lane only, it took him fifty minutes to get to work this morning, normally a fifteen minute drive.
I finally got the next row done on the peacock, having spent yesterday washing and ironing all my curtains (ugh), so it took me longer. I rinsed the Solvy off of the last piece in the row this morning, sewed it on and…
I screwed up the coloring on that section when I was changing it in the software! To make matters worse, I thought it would blend in okay, so I went ahead and sewed that section on. Does this look blended to you? Eep! So I’m restitching that piece out, and I hope like crazy that I can rip out the attached piece without the one it’s sewn to falling apart… velveteen is not the most stabil fabric!

I think it took Mike about 45 minutes to get to work - between where we live and Highway 7 was icy but I was surprised that 7 was clear to Russellville - the road out to the training center from Russellville was bad though and Mike said there were cars off in the ditches. I'm staying home today and will take car of the new car insurance stuff tomorrow!
Little Rock got around 5 inches I think. I heard we might get a little more later today.

Sorry you didn't get very much snow.
Good luck with the unsewing. I think this looks stunning!
We got around 4 inches in Searcy. The highways are still snow covered and icy between my house and town so I didn't go to work today. I will probably have to ride in with hubby tomorrow morning.
The peacock is just beautiful! I hope replacing the tile is not too much of a problem.
That peacock is gorgeous!!
I live north of Atlanta & we got 5 inches. The airport is pretty well closed--husband was s'posed to go out of town and my sister was s'posed to fly in from Minneapolis to quilt with me for a week. The city is pretty much shut down--all schools closed. We can't get out of our neighborhood and now we are getting freezing rain!
It is beautiful though and I have fresh bread and tuscan bean soup and am making oatmeal cookies. Setting up a jigsaw puzzle and will snack til Wednesday when the sun will shine again!!
Karen in Ga where it almost never snows
And velveteen probably isn't too forgiving either. But I know you, CJ, it WILL be right or you won't use it.....
The snow looks beautiful and you could use your picture as a post card. We are suspose to get a lot of lake snow here in NW Indiana. I have to head to Indianapolis in the morning and pray for I65 to be clear. I love being snowed in.
Your embroidery is beautiful. I hope it doesn't take too long to stitch out your block. Love the colors.

Well, they're talking about 10 to 20 inches of snow here in CT tomorrow. It seems that 2 storms are combining & going to shut us down. This seems like a much snowier winter. It's pretty & I don't have to go out so it's okay for me, but all the others will have a rough time. The peacock is lovely & we all know you can fix it. Diane in CT
