Free time!
Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 12:30PM I am all caught up with quilting, my house is clean, the yard is mowed, the bread is baked, Jim’s going to bring dinner home… I’m going to have FUN today!
I’ve yet to get over my love affair with Moda Chocolat, and still have a few bits and pieces of it left in my stash. Most of my living room is done with it.

This morning I made a couple more coasters from charm squares, and I’ve decided I’m tired of my pillow covers and what a great way to practice my applique skils.. so new pillow covers it is!
I’ve got the center cut out and fused for the first one. I’ve no plan for the border yet, I’ll decide after I get the flowers and leaves stitched down. Maybe some mini nine patch blocks?
It’s raining away outside, I’m so excited! I hope it’s in time to save some of the trees and shrubs we were close to losing, too late for others.

Very pretty quilt block! Love your plaid coasters too! I've made some in the past. Mine are getting pretty grungy and tattered looking! You sure have a lot done for the day!
Now that you caught up with chorees at your place, can you come do mine???? LOL I think the pillow covers are great ideas to use scraps! Who doesn't love Chocolate...oh wait, you meant the fabric collection...well i like them both..hee hee!! Polly

Hey CJ, I'm glad you're having some free time. Isn't it great to be caught up and free to do whatever you please. My problem is that I don't get the house cleaned, etc. I just sew. Maybe one day I'll grow up and be responsible. lol
I too LOVE Chocolat. I wish I had paying more attention when I could find it and bought more. I am down to a very small amount and am always looking for more. :)

Wonderful rain!!! My hydrangeas and roses are soooo happpy. I love making those coasters for gifts. Need to make a few more sets for my 'giftie' basket. Like your applique design, too.
The applique is so cute. I like the coasters also. Are they from a pattern or is it something you created?

So glad you are having some fun time! It's important. :-) I was going to say that I'd take the old pillow covers but I see someone else already asked! LOL Be sure to save them--they're gorgeous. It's still dark and dreary here, but no rain yet, and I have leftover soup, so I'm going to play, too.
