Finished purse

And it’s all done, except for the sleeve to cover the acrylic “Baggy Bottom” insert.

I used home decor fabric from Hobby Lobby on this one.  On Friday, a friend and I are going to Little Rock to do a bit of shopping.  Not much as both of us have gimpy feet at the moment, but if we aren’t too tired, on the way back we plan to stop at the Warp and Woof in Conway.  They carry a large selection of decorator fabric and I hope to find more that I like for purses.

I really like this pattern a lot.  The purse is a nice size, it finishes out at 10 inches wide by 9 inches tall.  The two outside pockets are perfect for my cell phone and keys, and there are four roomy pockets inside that hold my checkbooks, plus a couple of pen pockets.

I like the idea that you used home dec fabrics, CJ. I think the weight of Home Dec fabrics is great for handbags. We have a great outlet here for ALL fabrics and I love digging through everything for great bargains.

Oooo, CJ, love the bag. And I love that it has a zipper closure as I hate open top bags. What pattern did you use?

It's Lovely! It will be fun seeing what fabrics you find for future bags! I have made a few bags with decorator fabric, and I like the weight much better than regular cotton. Have fun shopping! Hope your feet are feeling better soon.

lovely bag - you must change bags frequently - I hate to change out bags and tend to stick with the same old bag for months at a time - have fun shopping.

Love the fabric! Hope the foot has started to feel better. I'll have to pick up the pattern, as I love their zipper insertions.

I really like that bag, especially the zippered top. And the pockets on the outside are great!
Did you use any fleece or interfacing at all? Maybe you don't have to with home dec fabric?
It looks great!!

I normally don't like the purse patterns I have seen made up but I have to tell you, I ADORE THIS ONE.

Must see where I can get mine.

OH NO! It has a zipper. Yvette doesn't do zippers, she only does 6" blocks that have 100 pieces. LOL!!

Love it!! Makes me wish I liked purses. I hate carrying one and usually find the smallest one I can and switch out spring/summer with fall/winter. How boring am I? LOL
