Design wall Monday

I’m trying out different layouts and blocks to complete my scrappy quilt with the larger center star block and the four corner blocks.

This one may take me awhile to get it right. Jim’s headed back to New Orleans today, and I need to clean the house today, do some laundry, and tomorrow I need to mow, so it won’t be getting a lot of attention for a day or two.  Maybe while it simmers in my brain the light will come on!

Yeah I know, it’s pretty dim in there already!

I’m not sure I like the brown and black star with the blue and tan patches, but hey, I have to start somewhere!

Head over to Judy’s and see what everyone else is up to this Design Wall Monday!

Sometimes a few days away from a quilt is a good thing, isn't it?

I love your blocks!

Love your blocks and your fabrics. I'm sure the light will go on while you're doing something else! I like your star blocks. Maybe don't do an hourglass and keep that joining spot all blue. Just a thought.:) Have fun with it!

I love the design and the colors you have chosen. At the moment it looks pretty good even if you keep doing what you are doing. I look forward to seeing it down the road.

I agree, sometimes you need a day or two away from a project then when you go back to it you know immediately if you like the colors or if you don't.
I need to get back to quilting this week, I would really like to get both of these finished this month and get back to finishing more already started.

I think it looks great! If you continue with this design will you have enough background?? Love the addition of the blue

I think all the blocks are great. I'll bet while you are mowing you will get a great idea. Just try to remember it. LOL!!!

It looks great, CJ. I'd say your brain wattage is powering up. I really like the secondary design of the hourglass. That line of fabric reminds me of Rural Jardin by French General.

I'm all for letting ideas "simmer" for awhile. Makes for a better design.
The colors in those blocks are wonderful together.

I think you're right about the block with tyhe light blue squares... not enough difference in the values there...but the blue is perfect for those corners!! Lookin' good, lady!! :-)
But I'm waiting for that lime green baby quilt...

I like this block. It makes a gorgeous quilt, and I do like the colors you are using.

Lookin good! If you post a closer picture of the background, I will see if I have the fabric in my stash. I don't pay attention to what the design names are, I just buy them if they talk to me:)
