Yarn!
Friday, August 27, 2010 at 7:20AM I mentioned on my last post I wanted to make an afghan for the house. I love ripple afghans best, and somewhere, floating around in a box, is my favorite afghan I cannot find! I made it from stripes of light pea green, ivory and black! It may sound obnoxious, but it’s gorgeous and I sure wish I could find it!
I ordered my yarn this morning, for a new ripple afghan. I’m going to crochet this one, as I want something mindless to do in the evening when I’m not sewing and knitting nearly always requires me to count… well crochet does to I suppose, but I can do it blindfolded by touch I swear!
These are my yarn choices. Black, Pearl Mist, Barley and Grey Heather. Now I wonder if I can find my crochet hooks? I’m sure I haven’t seen them in about five years!
I got all my mom’s pants hemmed yesterday. I didn’t really get to visit much with my parents as it took me a couple of hours to get them done, so lunch was a simple matter of hot roast beef sandwiches, kettle chips, and strawberry cream pie (which I bought… it was pretty nasty). LOLof
Jim is home! But alas, he has to head back to New Orleans again on Sunday for another week. Bummer, he won’t be home for his birthday!

Too funny, CJ. When us three girls spent time together last weekend, Kelli got in my yarn box and started to crochet an afghan.
We both love ripples best !!!
But what just makes me smile. I taught her to crochet. And now - she crochets better than her mother. What's up with that? LOL Man oh man, she crochets beautifully. I have a purse she crocheted me last year for Christmas and the handle is a cowboy's roping rope - I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are such a good daughter! I think your afghan will be beautiful!
Enjoy your time with Jim! Tell him Happy Birthday!
These are almost the exact colors I have to use for my next afghan. So earthy!
Like you, I wanted something mindless to do-must be doing something!-and I need Christmas gifts. 4 afghans to do in 6 months. Just finishing up the 1st now, the other 3 will go faster.
What kind of yarn?? Those look identical to the ones I used to make an entrelac purse! I have extra... will trade if you can cut a few things for me on the studio??
Sigh...you crochet, too....
Is there anything you can't do, CJ??????
Oh CJ, any lunch you make will be great! I bet your mom was thrilled to have her pants hemmed.
You afghan sounds wonderful! Fall seems to have arrived here (seriously, we may have to light the fireplace tonight!), and knitting and crocheting sounds perfect. Can't wait to see your afghan. One, two, three, (just counting for you--always glad to help).
