Borders on
Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11:40AM
The applique is all stitched down now, and the borders are on. I just can’t make up my mind if I want to do a wreath of appliques in the center star, or call it good. Opinions? If I leave it blank, I’ll probably quilt a feathered wreath there, center of it crosshatched, with radiating lines out to the tips.
No clue how I want to quilt the rest of it! LOL
This is a nice size for a wallhanging, as it’s 45 inches square. I might have to do another one for me!

my opinion there is enough applique but it all comes down to personal choice :) It feels so much better outside today doesn't it!

Looks wonderful now, Have you cut out the center applique and just laid it on to see how it looks? Then you'd know if you actually want to add it or not. (Sometimes I quit before doing all the parts and later wish I'd gone for it.)
If it was me, I'd like to see what it looks like with the appliques layed down before I made my decision. Granddaughter says she really, really loves it now!! :)
Looks real good to me as is...would rather see the quilting be the focus of the center...

I like it as it is, but if you've got the applique for the center, try them just to see how you like it. I like simple & I think the feathered wreath sounds just right. Diane in CT
I vote for feathered wreath using a wonderful King Tut. I Love having the Go! to cut applique shapes, I can only imagine having the studio.
Well, I guess I am going against popular opinion, but I like the idea of more applique in the middle. I think that it would balance out the design better.
Much as I adore feathered quilting and cringe at the idea of appliqué, I think this piece needs more appliqué. I think the four flowers there now look a bit lonely. ;)
I so love your choice of colors, so calming. This would make a great table topper too. Can't wait to see it quilted.
Have fun.
Wellll, how about just one single flower applique in the middle?
More applique.
My vote is for more applique, in the center, to tie it together.
