Feather Boot Camp!

Woohoo, today begins my five week intensive course on freehand longarm feathers!  I’m taking Suzanne Earley’s Feather Boot Camp class, which I missed in the spring and was so excited to see it offered again at a time that I could take it!

I’m making slow but steady progress on quilting the monkey quilt and last night I began a new project, which is intended (ahem!) to be a wallhanging (a gift) if it turns out.

What was I thinking!  It’s full of “Y” seams!  Have I ever done a “Y” seam?  Nope!  Did the pattern come with instructions?  Sure, but it’s not like they were in English or anything.  Thank heavens for You Tube, I was able to find a nice litte video that helped me more or less, to figure it out.

you will catch on to Y seams - once you get the hang of it not so bad!

I don't really like Y seams, but they are not too hard after you get the hang of it. It looks like a really interesting project,

Have fun with the Suzanne Earley class...I've heard she's great!! I love feathers but couldn't do one to save my life...

OOOH, I am so glad you are getting to take the feathers class. Sounds like fun!

Y-seams. I avoid them like the plague. LOL They are no problem on larger blocks but I do them by hand on the smaller ones.
