Design Wall Monday

I normally post a bit earlier on Mondays, but I had some watering to get done outside first. This is a new project, it will be a wallhanging, and it will be appliqued. Gasp! Yep, that’s a dirty word around here.
The colors are off in this photo, the lighter blue is a tad more grayish than it appears here, but otherwise they’re pretty true to color (assuming of course, your monitor is matched to mine, hahaha!).
The brown star is not the center, that’s just as far as I’ve got done. I’m working from the outside corners in, the final star in the center will be dark blue.
Head over to Judy’s to see what everyone else is up to this week!

Here’s the completed center. At this point it is a 36 inch square. For those who might be interested, this was
entirely cut with my AccuQuilt (Studio) using the Chisel Die and block “B” from the 12 inch Block set. I don’t know if the same dies are available for the GO model or not.
The pattern is called “Back to Nature” and is from the “Chisel Chase” book by Noble Needle Quilting and Sewing/Kay Gentry.

will you cut your appliques with your Studio?
Like what you have so far and I'm interested in seeing the applique.
We finally got .35 inch of rain Friday, but that was a tease for the plants. I love watering in the early morning when all is quiet.... although I'd rather it rain... LOL!!
I gasp at applique too!! I can't help it!
I see a stars by magic in this pic !! HAHAHAHA
Wish I could just sew with you every day ... maybe someday soon !
Boy, the accuquilt has it's own language!! I don't speak it. :-) LOL But your wallhanging is looking awesome.
You've inspired me. I'm heading downstairs to my sewing room right now--even thought I have lots of other things I should be doing instead. They'll wait!
Gasp is right. Applique and I don't get along...
Love that pattern and your colors.
I look forward to seeing this develop. Ladies if you're afraid of applique try what our ancestress's did - some used cut out shapes and straight stitch around the pieces onto their quilts - easy! And if you use a tightly woven fabric you can make it raw edge.
