Design Wall Monday

Sorry for the lousy photo, all my pieces kept falling off the design wall, so I have them on the carpet and hey, it’s early, I’ve only had half a cup of coffee!

This is how I think the center of my Pirate Monkey Quilt is going to look.  Now I’m going to go back and compare it to the original layout I drew up in EQ, make adjustments or redraw the EQ design, and move onto the borders, which at this time I have no idea of what they’ll be.

This one is being totally winged as I go… imagine that!

Don’t forget to head over to Judy’s and see what everyone else is up to this week!

Jim’s off to New Orleans again, he’ll be home next weekend but has to go back down the week after as well, ugh.  I told him it was going to be cooler down there than here!  And they’re getting rain, our grass is all brown now, the leaves in the trees are turning yellow and coming down, we’ve lost several bushes, the entire garden, two of our blueberries and one cherry tree don’t look like they’re going to make it either.

I guess I better clean the house today, unless someone wants to volunteer?  LOL

That is adorable!.. how about some solid shashing around the embroidery to help it stand proud. It's such cute embroidery.. you want to feature it!

Can't wait to see it all done!

If you're not too tired of doing emb. I think a solid border w/4 emb. cornerstones of little monkeys would be cute and pull it all together. Just a thought. It's really cute. Someone will love receiving this.

Sorry to hear you have lost some plants - I wonder how many of mine have died - we can always replant - I wouldn't have been able to keep up with all the watering either had I been at home.

Looks GREAT!

I do a lot of "winging it." It's fun and I always learn something.

This is getting better and better. Don't you wish you could have a baby to give it to? LOL!!!!!!

Oh, what fun. I'm eager to see what borders you add.

Heat and drought are bad. We got a much needed 3.5 inches of rain yesterday.

I think I'm dire straights here.....Scott was home all last week and he's home again today with no immediate travels plans. YUCK !! LOL

Good thing I had a break to sew nonstop for two days, otherwise I'd go into fits.

Maybe Jim needs a companion?

Stinkin' adorable!!! I am so in love with this little monkey!!! :-)

The layout looks great. Solid borders would frame your quilt and pop the colors in your blocks.

Really cute quilt and the colors are cool and refreshing or am I just heat dazed. I am watering my plants just enough to tease them which isn't good for the root system, but it eases my soul just to be among them and hear the water tinkling through the blossoms.

Sorry about your blueberries and cherry tree. Our cherry tree still looks okay and we are planting blueberries this fall.... big argument going on about 'where'.... LOL.

Thanks for sharing all your good 'stuff'.
