All quilted!

Whoa… I think hell must have frozen over… I had a plan for my day and it has actually gone accordingly!

I finished quilting Jim’s Cappuccino quilt, just have to trim it, make the binding and get it sewn on.  I don’t have any of these batiks left, do you think a solid black binding would look alright on it?

Once I get it bound, I’ll take some more photos so you can see the entire quilt, these are just some close ups to show what the panto I used looks like.  This is the “Feathered Leaf” design by Willow Leaf Studios, which you can see in my pantograph section.  First time I’ve stitched this one out.  It flows really nicely across the quilt, but it’s not one I’d recommend if you don’t have a steady hand.

I think Jim did a nice job choosing both the thread and the quilting design, and he just came home for lunch so I’m off to show him his quilt!

Thank you everyone for your feedback about adding a sun to the monkey quilt, seems like everyone is in agreement, no sun!  Cool beans, I didn’t want to piece it anyway, LOL

black binding will work seeing as you have none of the others left over.

That looks really nice, CJ. Jim did a great job of picking thread and design. You do great panto work--your points always come out so pointy--mine are more curved and your stitches are so even. I guess I'm one of those without a steady hand, or maybe I need more practice.
I think black binding would be a very good choice.

It's gorgeous CJ! The panto is perfect & the thread color works well without being overwhelming. I agree black binding will work, dark colors on the outside are like a picture frame. Diane n CT

I don't know where this week has gone, oh wait, yes I do. I wasn't even able to make time to get on the computer! And I missed all your cool posts, which I just finally read. I'm hoping things quiet down after this weekend--I'm teaching an embroidery camp all weekend, starting tonight at 6:30 and ending Sunday at four. Should be fun, but I'm ready to head back to the island!!!

Love Jim's quilt, I'm so impressed with your new skills with the APQS, and your hair is gorgeous!! (back view of you...) You scored some great things at the French Seam and will have too much fun with your loot. Enjoy!

I think black binding will be fine, CJ. :) That panto really makes for a lot of movement across the quilt -- it's really turned out well. :)
